ANDREW J. DRAUS

B.S. Marketing, Northern Illinois University (1987)
J.D., Law, DePaul University (1991)

Admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois and the United States (N.District of Illinois) courts (1991)

Andy Draus was born in Chicago, before growing up in the western suburbs of Lombard and Geneva, Illinois. After graduating from Northern Illinois University, Andy worked in sales and then in the legal department of Olympic Federal Savings & Loan in Berwyn, while attending night classes at DePaul University College of Law. He started his own law practice in 1994, on St. Patrick’s Day.

Mr. Draus specializes in what he describes as “real person” law—areas in which an average person might need a lawyer, such as buying or selling a house; preparing a will or trust; opening a small business or corporation; and filing bankruptcy. Mr. Draus believes in empowering his clients in legal matters by making sure they understand complicated documents, and by ensuring that their voice and wishes are heard.

Mr. Draus lives in Lombard, where he is somewhat of a community fixture, having served on volunteer committees for the Taste of Lombard, Cub Scouts, the Village of Lombard Community Relations Committee and Senior Fair; and serving as a Coach and Board Member for the Lombard Firebirds Soccer Club for 15 years. In 2015, Mr. Draus started Mosquito Joe of DuPage County, the first Mosquito Joe franchise in the Chicago area.

In his free time, Andy enjoys meeting new people, traveling, board games, reading comic books, and playing soccer in the Half Century Club (over 50) leagues. His wife, Susan, sells kitchen equipment to McDonald’s and teaches Jazzercise part-time. Both of their sons graduated from Willowbrook High School in Villa Park and the Ohio State University.
